Nautical Baby ShowerJanuary 28, 2013 - Author: Platinum Planner
Last year, we welcomed the newest addition to our family. Before his arrival, grandma hosted a Nautical-themed baby shower to celebrate with family and friends.
Invitations used a combination of navy and yellow cardstock, and a yellow and white stripe. The appearance of waves at the bottom of the invitation was achieved with a blue felt ribbon. A yellow paper anchor was used to secure the invitation closed for an additional touch.
Simple white linen tablecloth with hand-dyed navy fish net runner. Silver chargers with navy plates. Handmade napkins in navy and yellow solids and nautical navy stripe and print are tied with a simple twine ribbon. The centerpieces are a combination of: short mason jars with sand, seashells, and votive candles, tall mason jars with decorative stones and blue hydrangea, and hurricanes filled with sand, seashells, and blue pillar candles.
Guests took home handmade seashell soap, handmade scented bath salts, and a small handmade candle. The favors were wrapped in fishnet with a colored ribbon and handmade “Thank You” tag. The treasure chest display completed the look.
Clam Chowder with Oyster Crackers, Caesar Salad Bar, Shrimp Cocktail, Fruit Skewers, and a Cheese and Cracker Tray.
Snacks included jello cups with sailboats made of orange candy slices and felt pennants, individual bags of trail mix, and a bowl of individually wrapped mint chocolates. The two-tiered nautical cake was ordered from a local bakery.
In addition to water and soda selections, Iced Tea and Lemonade were served in mason-jar drinking glasses. Flavored syrups were also available for guests to create their own flavored beverages.
